STEP 11 - SAYING GOOD BYE
Students send their good bye to their partners in their COMMUNICATION AREA.
CONCLUSION
"We are going to teach our students a new way in collaborative work.
We expect a lot from this working scheme.
It will enable students from different countries to become aware of the benefit of practising and using the English language.
They will discover different cultures and develop their communicative skills by using the Internet and by commenting on photographs.
Students are going to develop their skills in computing by taking part in the management of a web collaborative area.
It is the way of working and communicating in the business world, which is underlined in this project", Mr Bernard Garcin writes on the project main webpage.
All of us, students and teachers from Athens in Greece, agree with Mr Bernard Garcin, coordinator of our partnership, and we are very grateful to him for the precious help and the valueable experience. We enjoyed the whole project and we thank very much our partners too.
STEP 10 - PRESENTING THE COLLABORATIVE REPORT
The students invited an expert to school. Mr. Marios Fraggoulopoulos discussed with the students about clean tech homes, about bioclimatism and energy saving and answered their questions. Then the students presented their report about new houses to their school authorities and were congratulated for their succeded works.
STEP 9 - STATISTICAL ANALYSIS & GRAPHS
WORKING TOGETHER PREPARING THE GRAPHS AND THE THE INTERNATIONAL REPORT.
The students contributed a report in the communication area of their virtual class.
In this report they outlined the conclusions they have drawn from opinion poll (STEP 6 excel page ), after the results of statistical analysis on 736 questionnaires, which have been shared in 18 european cities and in Singapore/Asia, and after the graphs' drawing.
STEP 8 - PRESENTING THE INTERNATIONAL-SCALE OPINION POLL
THE COLLABORATIVE REPORT.
Each virtual class prepared a report of their activities.
They wrote this presentation of work in the native language and in English language of course.
STEP 7 - PRESENTANTION OF OUR TOWN
Waiting for the results of the survey coming from all the countries, the students presented the region where they live. They talked about the landscape in their town, about whatever they like doing, about their life style, the favoutite sports, the favourite season etc...
Opening the Google Earth they found the coordinates of Nea Filadelfia in Athens and they sent two more photos of Nea Filadelfia to the teacher managing the project in order to be inserted on the project webpage.

STEP 6 - WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY.
The students wrote the results of their survey on an excel page, working only with 32 questionnaires, which had been given to the Greek people.
STEP 4 & 5 - WORKING TOGETHER BY CONDUCTING A SMALL SURVEY .
The co-ordinator school made a questionnaire about New Homes and send it to the other schools. There, the teacher in charge translated it to the national language and made photocopies of the Greek questionnaire for the servey: each student will question only 2 people in this survey.

STEP 3 - SEARCH FOR INFORMATION CONCERNING HOUSES
People says that clean tech and energy could be a 21st-century boom industry.
The students observed the examples of houses, through photos and read the texts. They also searched where each town is located.
They searched for information concerning clean tech houses.
The looked for clean tech home and beautiful as well. The topics were: thermal insulation, windows, solar panels, wind turbines, water turbines, geothermal, wood heater, and rainwater tanks.
Then, the students wrote small texts about clean tech houses and put them in the COMMUNICATION AREA of their virtual class.
STEP 2 - STUDENTS' INTRODUCTION
The students, introducing themselfves had the opportunity to establish new contacts. For this reason, THEY wrote their text with much care, giving details.
They are very careful. They respected the texts, which had be written by the other students.
Each student introduced her/himself (6/7 lines = 100 words), finishing with his/her first name, the name of your country and the announce if she was a woman or he was a man, because the first name is certainly unknown in the other countries. The texts were inserted in the COMMUNICATION AREA of the virtual class.
STEP 1 - STUDENTS' TRAINING
The students read the students users' manual and opened the TRAINING AREA of the virtual class in order to learn how to use the virtual learning environments WITHOUT DAMAGING SOMEONE'S ELSE CONTRIBUTION.
The students have to INSERT texts in the TRAINING AREA of THEIR virtual class, going to the URL http://wkto.free.fr , using their user name and their password.
Every time the students must WRITE the date, the name of their school, the name of their country, their firstnames and the town where they live.

In each virtual class one student is the class manager responsible for keeping the records and for maintaining the communication_area page correctly by checking from the virtual class students' list that all the contributions are dated and signed and are in the right order by date starting at the bottom of the page.
SEPTEMBER 2007: THE CHARTER OF GOOD CONDUCT.
CHARTER OF GOOD CONDUCT
Before using the secret login and password to join the project WKTO mobile collaborative learning, the teacher must translate the charter in the students' native language, read the charter with the students and ask the students for a written agreement to the following conditions:
The project is designed so that people from different countries, sometimes very distant, get to know each other better, learn how to understand each other, to respect each other and to exchange their ideas on subjects concerning culture, literature and economics. These are the reasons why we ask the teachers and the students who take part in this project to comply with the following rules:
- Please read the students' assignment.
- Only include photos, drawings and writings in direct connection with the students' assignment.
- Do not include any material which is indecent or which could shock in any way.
- Students are not allowed to insert links to web pages in the Communication Area.
- Photos must be inserted in the photos area.
- Be in accordance with the law in your country. For instance, in France you need the written agreement of a person to depose her/his photo on the Internet plus the written agreement from the parents if under 18. Think about parents' written agreement for video conferencing.
- Do not type the family names of students, just their first names.
- Do not divulge your secret login and password to anybody. Do not save your password on a computer.
As teacher, you are responsible for supervising the activity of your students on the WKTO Virtual Learning Environments.
- Your students are not allowed to open discussion about any illegal activity or political opinions.
- With your teachers' login, you can open and modify the texts in all the different virtual classes.
- A teacher has a moderating role to play : she (he) may intervene to modify the texts written by students so that they conform to the charter.
- On special occasions such as the start of a vacation, Christmas or New Year holidays, or a sports event like the Olympic Games, students can exchange messages in the Communication Area as long as they comply with the Charter of Good Conduct. "

PROJECT WKTO: BUILDING NEW HOMES
All just need computers connected to the Internet.
INTRODUCTION
It is in such a perspective that this project has been organized, to generate an ongoing relationship between language learners from different cultures within the framework of a VIRTUAL CLASS. By operating in a real context, pupils understand the need for working with foreign languages, they see that it is possible to work together and to learn how to write a professional-style report.
This project is a CLIL project (Content and Language Integrated Learning) connected to economics because the students will learn how to organize an international survey, to civic instruction because we are going to talk about sustainable development and to I.C.T. (information and communication technologies) because the students will practice collaborative working using specialized software.
